news - 911 address signs Everyone knows the
adage "Every Second Counts" when we're referring to an emergency and
it's true. The difference between life and death may only be a few
seconds for a victim. This fact has not been ignored by governmental
agencies and community organizations; millions and millions of
dollars have been poured into technologically advanced E-911 systems
over the past 15-20 years. Even today, the hot topic is wireless
E-911 concerning cell phones dialing 911.
However, with all of this technology, we've left
out one small, basic tool. People don't mark their addresses
sufficiently for emergency personnel to find them.
Our goal is to eliminate this problem. The Morgan
County Professional Firefighters Union is offering 911 address signs
so that your firefighters can find your house when seconds count
during an emergency. The signs measure 6" x 18" (inches) and are
available in either blue or green with reflective white number, up
to 5 digits. (Covers all of Morgan County)
The signs can be mounted either vertically or
horizontally on your existing mailbox post or you can erect a new
post for the sign. Either way, your sign will help firefighters,
police, and medical personnel locate your home.
If you would like to order a sign, please fill out
the form below. Prices for the signs are as follows:
Sign Only = $15.00
Sign + Installation = $20.00
If you wish to purchase the
mounting hardware to mount it yourself, the cost will be $3.00.
Currently all signs will need to be picked up at
Madison Township Fire Station 32 at 7047 E. Landersdale Rd., Camby.
If you would like to have your order shipped, please include $7.50
for postage and handling. If you have any questions, please contact
